About Clinical Hypnotherapy

Clinical hypnotherapy usually involves deep physical relaxation, a focus of attention and a detached awareness. It is the process of inducing the hypnotic state and offering suggestions directly to the unconscious mind.
The hypnotic state is a naturally occurring state of consciousness. Have you ever found that immediately after being deeply involved in an activity, such as reading or driving, you don’t remember seeing the sights or surrounding activity? This focused attention is an example of an hypnotic-like trance.

In the hypnotic state the unconscious mind has increased receptiveness to suggestion. All real change and learning starts in the subconscious mind.

A hypnotherapist helps you to work with your subconscious mind to resolve problems or enhance current behaviours to produce your desired change. You are always in control. The role of the hypnotherapist is to guide you. The suggestions offered during clinical hypnotherapy are the result of consultation and agreement, prior to hypnotherapy.
